This one-hour webinar is a private conference devoted to two topics:

• Coping with threats of lawsuits and/or licensing board complaints by patients/clients
• Introduction to boundaries and boundary management

This one-hour webinar addresses two issues of fundamental importance to practicing clinicians: coping with patient/client threats of lawsuits and/or licensing board actions, and understanding/implementing boundaries and boundary management. We begin with a discussion of ways to manage anxieties fueled by patient/client threats, including the differences between threats of filing lawauits vs threats of filing licensing board complaints, and how clinician responses to these two types of threats will differ. Finally, we discuss the “apology statute,” which has been enacted into law in most jurisdictions.
