In this virtual training, Dr. Phil Stahl, who has recently relocated to San Diego, will and has spoken internationally on these issues, will guide participants in understanding the following:

  • Key changes in the AFCC Guidelines (including the name and what that means) – IF APA revises their guidelines before this training, this will be discussed as well
  • A focus on virtual evaluation techniques and important modifications
  • Using a video film from Australia (20 minutes), Dr. Stahl will lead a discussion about high conflict families and refuse-resist dynamics, including some of the controversial literature of same
  • Revisiting relocation evaluations – an area where there is increased need
  • Dr. Stahl will focus on The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly he’s seen over 30 years of critiquing child custody evaluations with his recommendations from a forensic mindset.

Goals and Objectives:

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Integrate the revised AFCC Guidelines into their practice
  2. Hone and improve their virtual evaluation skills
  3. Broaden their knowledge of refuse-resist with a focus on the child rather than just the alleged alienating parent
  4. Provide the court with balanced and thorough relocation evaluations
