Jan Myers, MS has worked within the field of public safety for nearly 30 years. She is a Master Instructor with CA Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and taught and/or facilitated the development of numerous law enforcement courses in CA, OR, and CO, to include academy and advanced peace officer, 9-1-1 dispatch, parole and probation, and corrections courses, as well as management and executive management courses. As a CA 9-1-1 Dispatcher for 12 years, her duties included tactical dispatch and training. Her most recent project with CA POST was the development and production of a training video entitled, “Dispatchers: Career Resiliency”. She is also the instructor for the Trauma Exposure and Management course taught throughout CA. Ms. Myers co-founded the West Coast Post trauma Retreat (WCPR) in 2001, a 6-day residential treatment program for first responders experiencing posttraumatic issues, and a separate spouse/significant other program. While working with the State of Oregon, at the Department of Public Safety Standards & Training (DPSST), she assisted in the development of the first Oregon State Police Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) and facilitated the development of the first ever Line of Duty Death resource guide for OR law enforcement agencies. She also participated in the development of the National Emergency Number Association’s (NENA) Standard in Acute, Traumatic, and Chronic Stress Management. Ms. Myers was an original sitting board member of the 9-1-1 Wellness Foundation from 2010 to 2017. Ms. Myers holds a graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling and is a registered Professional Clinical Counselor intern with the State of CA. Her ultimate goal is to mitigate the stigma of first responders asking for the help they oftentimes need and always deserve.
Christine Naber, Ph.D. holds a Masters and Ph.D. in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Her dissertation focus was a priming study on the effects of exposure to rape myths in popular culture on victim blaming in a forensic setting. Dr. Naber completed an internship with a focus on neuropsychology and cross-cultural psychology, as well as postdoctoral training in neuropsychology and rehabilitation at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO and Northcoast Health Care Centers in Santa Rosa, CA. Dr. Naber works as a neuropsychologist in the Department of Neuropsychology at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa and has a private practice in Healdsburg, CA specializing in adult and geriatric neuropsychology, as well as criminal and civil forensic neuropsychological evaluations. Her forensic specialty includes a focus on assessment of trauma, PTSD, and emotional distress.
Annette Oltmans is the Founder and CEO of The MEND Project, a non-profit organization aimed at educating victims, survivors, helpers, and first responders on hidden emotional abuse, domestic violence, and double abuse.
She has conducted years of research - focusing on emotional abuse and double abuse - interviewing hundreds of victims, therapists, and faith-based leaders. The results of her research were used in creating the MEND Project's Responding to Abuse curriculum we are studying today.
She is a survivor of covert emotional abuse in her marriage. After a 3-year separation with both Annette and her husband doing a lot of therapeutic work with experts, they were able to successfully restore their marriage.

Dr. Sandra Paulsen is co-editor of “The Neurobiology & Treatment of Traumatic Dissociation: Toward an Embodied Self” (2014), and author of, “Looking Through the Eyes of Trauma & Dissociation: An Illustrated Guide for EMDR Therapists and Clients.” She is a fellow of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. She was invited faculty at the First and Third World Congresses of Ego State Therapy in Germany, 2003 and South Africa, 2010, Japan EMDR Conference 2010, Masters Series Lecturer at EMDRIA conference in Toronto, 2004. She wrote chapters in Corsini’s Encyclopedia of Psychology and Handbook of Innovative Psychotherapy, and in Shapiro’s Solutions II, Forgash’s Healing the Heart of Trauma, and Luber’s EMDR Scripted Protocols. She has collaborated with John G. Watkins, originator of ego state therapy. She was Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Hawaii; and Acting Chief Psychologist at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. She now lives and works on Bainbridge Island, near Seattle, specializing in intensive treatment for early trauma and attachment injuries.

Dr. QuaVaundra Perry is a board certified and Christian psychologist with a specialty in couple and family psychology awarded by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). She earned an undergraduate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas.
After completing practicum, internship, and postdoctoral residency at the Dallas VA Medical Center, she served as staff psychologist for several years. Additionally, she was assistant professor of psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Perry is owner of a solo virtual private practice, Perry Psychological & Consultation Services. Since transitioning to full-time private practice in 2019, Dr. Perry has been dedicated to serving people in unique careers who want to be excellent without having to be perfect.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Perry is often seen teaching or giving talks about mental health, relationships, and the intersection of faith. Sol R. Rappaport, Ph.D., ABPP is board certified in both Clinical Psychology and Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. Specializing in forensic evaluations, forensic consultation and psychological testing, he has been appointed to conduct over 800 custody evaluations over the past 20 years. Dr. Rappaport has specific expertise in conducting evaluations with allegations of alienation, interpersonal/domestic violence, relocation, and special needs children. In addition to conducting psychological evaluations on children and parents in civil cases, Dr. Rappaport conducts criminal evaluations including Competency/Fitness to Stand Trial, Mental State at Time of Offense, and Downward Departure evaluations. He regularly testifies on a national basis and throughout the state of Illinois. Thomas L. Sexton is a Professor Emeritus at Indiana University and a renowned expert on family-based treatment interventions. He is one of the developers of Functional Family Therapy (FFT, FFT-Foster Care & FFT-TCM), evidence-based family therapy programs for families in justice, mental health, and child welfare systems. Sexton’s significant contribution to the field of family psychology focused on the effectiveness of Family Psychology and Therapy in community settings, evidence-based practices, translational science, and the integration of psychological practice and technology through the development of measurement feedback systems to bring research and practice together in tools for treatment models, therapists, and organizations. Sexton developed the Care4, a software program designed to help make every clinician their local scientist improve clinical outcomes. He has authored or co-authored ten books, over thirty book chapters, and fifty articles published in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He is the author of Functional Family Therapy in Clinical Practice (2010) and the Handbook of Family Therapy (2003 & 2015). Sexton served as Editor for the Journal of Couple and Family Psychology: Research and Practice. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and a Diplomate in Couple and Family Psychology (ABPP).
Anish Shah, MD is the founder of the Siyan Clinical Corporation. In addition to serving as Siyan Clinical CEO and Medical Director, Dr. Shah specializes in treatment of various psychiatric disorders such as clinical depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders and post traumatic stress disorder. He also provides Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at Siyan Clinical Corporation. He has special interest in research on PTSD, mood disorders and anxiety disorders. Jacqueline Singer is a cum laude B.A. of The University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. from the California Professional School of Psychology. She completed pre- and post-doctoral internships at San Francisco’s Pacific Medical Center and Childrens’ Hospital. Her work as a psychologist has focused on children, adolescents and families, with positions at many of the Bay Area’s most prestigious programs. Hon. Marjorie A. Slabach (ret.) is a Certified Family Law Specialist and retired San Francisco Superior Court Commissioner in the Unified Family Court. She is now a Private Judge doing case management and settlement conferences. Prior to her tenure on the bench she worked with teenagers as an English teacher for many years and then chose to become a lawyer to represent parents and children. She is a frequent lecturer and panel member educating attorneys and judges in the area of family law with a specialty in child custody. Marge is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. Including 2010 Judicial Officer of the Year from the Family Law Section of the California State Bar and 2008 Judicial Officer of the Year from the Northern California Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She is a board member of the California Chapter of the Association of Family Court Conciliation where she heads a task force to explore alternative models for serving families in the court system. She is on the Overcoming Barriers’ Board of Directors most recently having served as Board President.
Mark Stanton, PhD, ABPP, is a professor in the School of Behavioral and Applied Sciences at Azusa Pacific University. He served APU previously as the Provost (2010-2019), founding dean of Behavioral and Applied Sciences (2006-2011), chair of the Department of Graduate Psychology (2000-2006), and founding director of the APA-accredited Doctor of Psychology program (1996-2006). He identifies himself as a couple and family psychologist. He was the 2011-2012 president of the American Board of Couple and Family Psychology, a constituent board of the American Board of Professional Psychology, and the 2005 president of the Society for Couple and Family Psychology of the American Psychological Association. He is a licensed psychologist in the state of California, board certified in couple and family psychology with the American Board of Professional Psychology. The Society for Couple and Family Psychology recognized him as the Family Psychologist of the Year in 2007.
Dr. Philip Stahl is a Board-certified forensic psychologist in private practice, living in Southern California, who provides consultation and expert witness testimony in child custody litigation throughout the United States, North America, and Australia. His primary area of specialty is relocation, including complex international relocations. Dr. Stahl is licensed in Arizona, California, Hawaii and Michigan. He conducts workshops and training throughout the United States and internationally for lawyers, child custody evaluators, and others working with high-conflict families of divorce. He is on the faculty of National Judicial College, teaching domestic violence to judges since 2000, and regularly speaks at state judicial colleges.
Along with his teaching, Dr. Stahl has written extensively on high-conflict divorce and custody evaluations. He is the author of Conducting Child Custody Evaluations: From Basic to Advanced Issues, (Sage Publications, 2010) and Parenting After Divorce, 2nd Edition (Impact Publishers,2008) and is co-author, with Dr. Robert Simon, of Forensic Psychology Consultation in Child Custody Litigation: A Handbook for Work Product Review, Case Preparation, and Expert Testimony, (American Bar Association Section of Family Law, 2nd Edition, 2020).
His most exciting project has been his book, written with his daughter Rebecca Stahl, JD, LLM, titled, Representing Children in Dependency and Family Court: Beyond the Law, published by the ABA Family Law Section in 2018.
