Program Description:
This course will review the good faith estimate (GFE) requirements for private practice clinicians accepting fee-for-service (non-insurance) payments. If you have a private practice and accept payments directly from your patients without billing carriers or other third-party payors such as Medicare, this course is designed for you. The one-hour course will review the reason for the new 2022 federal law, who the law covers, and the required steps for implementation. We’ll review the required content of the notices, how the notices should be presented, and options for implementation with both new and existing clients. Participants will receive a basic model notice, as well as instructions for how to customize the notice for their own practices.
Goals & Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the rationale for the good faith estimate requirement
- Identify the basic requirements of good faith estimates
- Implement good faith estimates for their own practices
