Tony Madrid, Ph.D.

Tony Madrid, Ph.D. earned his Ph.D. in psychology from Washington State University. He then did a Fellowship in Medical Psychology at UCSF and worked as a child psychologist at Sonoma County Mental Health.

Dr. Madrid was on California’s Board of Psychology for four years and was an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco (1976-1997). Dr. Madrid has been in private practice for 45 years in Sonoma County, California. He currently works as a psychologist at Russian River Counselors in Monte Rio, California.

Dr. Madrid has published over twenty papers and chapters in books on the topic of Bonding Therapy. He was awarded the Hilgard award for his article, Helping children with asthma using Bonding Therapy.

Sandra L. Mayberry, J.D.

Sandra L. Mayberry, J.D. brings 25 years of Family Law experience to Parks and Solar, including complex and high asset cases. She has practiced in San Diego County, exclusively in Family Law, for 25 years and has been a Certified Family Law Specialist, from the State Bar Board of Legal Specialization for more than 18 years. She has been a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 2012. She has been active in various aspects of the San Diego County Family Law Bar Association and San Diego County Bar since she began practice.

André Monteiro, Ph.D.

Bio:

 André Monteiro, Ph.D., has been practicing psychotherapy for approximately 40 years, and EMDR since 2000. He was a professor at the Catholic University of Brasília for almost 10 years. He participated with a chapter on the use of EMDR in group psychotherapy in Mark Nickerson’s book Cultural Competence and Healing Culturally Based Trauma with EMDR Therapy: Innovative Strategies and Protocols (2016-Springer) (2nd ed. In 2022). 

 In 2017, he was a keynote speaker and presenter at the first Trauma and Resilience in the Borderland Conference (Texas - June) and conducted a Symposium on Transgenerational Transmission of Trauma and Resources (TTT) in Santiago (Chile – September). 

In 2018 he presented on TTT at the EMDR Canadian Conference (Cité de Québec – April), EMDR Europe Conference in Strasbourg (July), at EMDRIA Conference in Atlanta (October), and carried out TTT workshops in Portugal (February), Uruguay (August), Brazil (September), and Argentina (November). 

He has participated with a chapter in the Springer book: EMDR Group Therapy: Emerging Principles and Protocols to Treat Trauma and Beyond (2023 - Edited by Robinson, R.M. and Kaptan, S. K.). 

He has presented on the topic of EMDR and group psychotherapy for EMDR India (2022), EMDR Europe (Bologna, 2023), EMDR Canada (2022) and EMDRIA (2022).

Jan Myers, M.S.

Jan Myers, MS has worked within the field of public safety for nearly 30 years.  She is a Master Instructor with CA Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and taught and/or facilitated the development of numerous law enforcement courses in CA, OR, and CO, to include academy and advanced peace officer, 9-1-1 dispatch, parole and probation, and corrections courses, as well as management and executive management courses.  As a CA 9-1-1 Dispatcher for 12 years, her duties included tactical dispatch and training.  Her most recent project with CA POST was the development and production of a training video entitled, “Dispatchers: Career Resiliency”. She is also the instructor for the Trauma Exposure and Management course taught throughout CA.  Ms. Myers co-founded the West Coast Post trauma Retreat (WCPR) in 2001, a 6-day residential treatment program for first responders experiencing posttraumatic issues, and a separate spouse/significant other program.  While working with the State of Oregon, at the Department of Public Safety Standards & Training (DPSST), she assisted in the development of the first Oregon State Police Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) and facilitated the development of the first ever Line of Duty Death resource guide for OR law enforcement agencies. She also participated in the development of the National Emergency Number Association’s (NENA) Standard in Acute, Traumatic, and Chronic Stress Management.  Ms. Myers was an original sitting board member of the 9-1-1 Wellness Foundation from 2010 to 2017.  Ms. Myers holds a graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling and is a registered Professional Clinical Counselor intern with the State of CA. Her ultimate goal is to mitigate the stigma of first responders asking for the help they oftentimes need and always deserve.

Christine Naber, Ph.D.

Christine Naber, Ph.D. holds a Masters and Ph.D. in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Her dissertation focus was a priming study on the effects of exposure to rape myths in popular culture on victim blaming in a forensic setting.  Dr. Naber completed an internship with a focus on neuropsychology and cross-cultural psychology, as well as postdoctoral training in neuropsychology and rehabilitation at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO and Northcoast Health Care Centers in Santa Rosa, CA. Dr. Naber works as a neuropsychologist in the Department of Neuropsychology at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa and has a private practice in Healdsburg, CA specializing in adult and geriatric neuropsychology, as well as criminal and civil forensic neuropsychological evaluations. Her forensic specialty includes a focus on assessment of trauma, PTSD, and emotional distress.

Stephanie Newberg, M.Ed., MSW, LCSW, offers a rich background in psychotherapy spanning over 25 years. Alyse November, PhD, LCSW

Alyse November, PhD, LCSW obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University, N.Y., and her PhD in Clinical Sexology from IICS. She is credentialed by the Academy of Certified Social Workers.

Alyse is the founder of Different Like Me, a company with a staff of over 30 professionals providing psychotherapy, psychoeducational testing and cognitive rehabilitation. As a licensed clinical social worker, Alyse provides psychotherapy to individuals across the lifespan. A substantial portion of her practice has focused on addressing challenges faced by children, adults, seniors, and families ranging from trauma, narcissistic and borderline family recovery, aging, chronic illness, divorce, trans-care, relationships, parenting, and special needs, end of life issues, dementia, caregiving, educational challenges, anxiety, and depression. Her PhD dissertation focused on the assessment of sexual challenges and dementia. Sandra Paulsen, Ph.D.

Dr. Sandra Paulsen is co-editor of “The Neurobiology & Treatment of Traumatic Dissociation: Toward an Embodied Self” (2014), and author of, “Looking Through the Eyes of Trauma & Dissociation: An Illustrated Guide for EMDR Therapists and Clients.” She is a fellow of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. She was invited faculty at the First and Third World Congresses of Ego State Therapy in Germany, 2003 and South Africa, 2010, Japan EMDR Conference 2010, Masters Series Lecturer at EMDRIA conference in Toronto, 2004. She wrote chapters in Corsini’s Encyclopedia of Psychology and Handbook of Innovative Psychotherapy, and in Shapiro’s Solutions II, Forgash’s Healing the Heart of Trauma, and Luber’s EMDR Scripted Protocols. She has collaborated with John G. Watkins, originator of ego state therapy. She was Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Hawaii; and Acting Chief Psychologist at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. She now lives and works on Bainbridge Island, near Seattle, specializing in intensive treatment for early trauma and attachment injuries.

Sherri Paulson, LCSW

Sherri Paulson MEd.; LCSW currently practices at Memorial Medical Center Behavioral Health as a trauma therapist specializing in sexual abuse issues and specialization in autism and other neurodevelopmental categories. Ms. Paulson also has 7 years of teaching experience. She was first trained in EMDR in 1998 and is an Approved Consultant.

Her journey into the world of Autism began with the birth of her niece and her subsequent diagnosis of Autistic Disorder.

She has been using EMDR with individuals with autism since 1998. Her first presentation was a poster presentation in 2003 at EMDRIA Denver. She introduced the adapted protocol for using EMDR with autism at the EMDRIA conference in 2006. She also presented the protocol at EMDR Europe-Edinburgh in 2014, in Canada in and in Brazil in 2017. Her recent poster presentation at EMDRIA Minneapolis in 2016 used a case study to demonstrate the e.ectiveness of using EMDR with autistic individuals, with the benefits lasting over time. Ms. Paulson consults globally on thissubject and the Protocol for EMDR adapted for Autism has been shared with therapists in 19 countries around the world and most of the United States.

QuaVandra Perry, Ph.D.

Dr. QuaVaundra Perry is a board certified and Christian psychologist with a specialty in couple and family psychology awarded by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). She earned an undergraduate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas.

After completing practicum, internship, and postdoctoral residency at the Dallas VA Medical Center, she served as staff psychologist for several years. Additionally, she was assistant professor of psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Perry is owner of a solo virtual private practice, Perry Psychological & Consultation Services. Since transitioning to full-time private practice in 2019, Dr. Perry has been dedicated to serving people in unique careers who want to be excellent without having to be perfect.

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Perry is often seen teaching or giving talks about mental health, relationships, and the intersection of faith. Dr. Perry’s expertise has been featured in several media outlets including Therapy for Black Girls, Cosmopolitan, The Oprah Magazine, and Huffington Post. She is author of the books, The Emotion Devotional: 40 Day Journey to Emotional Wholeness and The Emotional Devotional Workbook. Sol Rappaport, Ph.D., ABPP

Sol R. Rappaport, Ph.D., ABPP is board certified in both Clinical Psychology and Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. Specializing in forensic evaluations, forensic consultation and psychological testing, he has been appointed to conduct over 800 custody evaluations over the past 20 years. Dr. Rappaport has specific expertise in conducting evaluations with allegations of alienation, interpersonal/domestic violence, relocation, and special needs children. In addition to conducting psychological evaluations on children and parents in civil cases, Dr. Rappaport conducts criminal evaluations including Competency/Fitness to Stand Trial, Mental State at Time of Offense, and Downward Departure evaluations. He regularly testifies on a national basis and throughout the state of Illinois. Dr. Rappaport is the President of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Illinois Chapter and is on their Board of Directors and Executive Board.
