Therapist Heal Thyself: Moving target of self-care during COVID 19 Pandemic
This new 1.5-hour course is available 24/7 in Online Video format, and requires a High-speed (cable, dsl) connection to the Internet.
The COVID 19 pandemic has had psychological and social consequences globally. It has been a uniquely different worldwide traumatic event that is, in many ways, shared by clients and therapists alike.
We have known about the hazards of our profession and the resulting emotional residue of working with other people’s distress and trauma. At this time we have to acknowledge that we too are experiencing the distress and trauma along with them. The emotional demands of our work have changed in unique ways necessitating a different and renewed focus on self-care.
Dr. Bhatia will shed light on the demands, vulnerabilities, and challenges in our work and share diverse ways of attending to our own emotional, psychological and professional needs. Replenishing ourselves personally and professionally is as an ethical responsibility we all share.
