André Monteiro, Ph.D.
Bio:
André Monteiro, Ph.D., has been practicing psychotherapy for approximately 40 years, and EMDR since 2000. He was a professor at the Catholic University of Brasília for almost 10 years. He participated with a chapter on the use of EMDR in group psychotherapy in Mark Nickerson’s book Cultural Competence and Healing Culturally Based Trauma with EMDR Therapy: Innovative Strategies and Protocols (2016-Springer) (2nd ed. In 2022).
In 2017, he was a keynote speaker and presenter at the first Trauma and Resilience in the Borderland Conference (Texas - June) and conducted a Symposium on Transgenerational Transmission of Trauma and Resources (TTT) in Santiago (Chile – September).
In 2018 he presented on TTT at the EMDR Canadian Conference (Cité de Québec – April), EMDR Europe Conference in Strasbourg (July), at EMDRIA Conference in Atlanta (October), and carried out TTT workshops in Portugal (February), Uruguay (August), Brazil (September), and Argentina (November).
He has participated with a chapter in the Springer book: EMDR Group Therapy: Emerging Principles and Protocols to Treat Trauma and Beyond (2023 - Edited by Robinson, R.M. and Kaptan, S. K.).
He has presented on the topic of EMDR and group psychotherapy for EMDR India (2022), EMDR Europe (Bologna, 2023), EMDR Canada (2022) and EMDRIA (2022).
